Terms and Conditions

By making a booking with Barking Bath, you agree to our standard Terms & Conditions as set out below:

Bookings, Payments and Cancellations

Bookings

At the time of booking, you may amend your original booking once only (up to 24 hours before the original booked date) to a different date (subject to availability). To secure your appointment, you will be asked to pay a £15 non refundable deposit which must be paid by BACS transfer.

If Barking Bath accepts a request to change the services booked, the original price and completion times in the booking will be adjusted by Barking Bath as appropriate, and the changes notified to the customer. Barking Bath may decline to carry out any requested changes due to time availability or other reasons that prohibit the smooth running of Barking Bath business.

 * No fee is applied for rescheduled appointments respecting the condition stated above.

Cancellation

You may cancel your original booking up to 24 hours before the original date booked.

Less than this will result in the deposit of £15 being kept covering our losses. A no show to the appointment will result in a one-off charge of the original full groom value. This will need to be paid in full within 28 days before securing the next appointment. If you are not home within your given time slot and is unavailable for more than 20 minutes. A 'Sorry We Missed You' form will be posted through the letter box and this will be classed as a no show.

Payments

There may be occasions where additional grooming is required beyond what was initially quoted and could not reasonably be identified or foreseen at the time of booking. We will endeavour to contact you immediately when we are made aware of this, but any additional costs shall be your responsibility, and Barking Bath shall not be liable for these.

Please pay the balance due by cash or by BACS transfer. Payment must be made when collecting your dog from the mobile salon (BACS or cash). We will confirm receipt before releasing your dog to you.

Time Keeping

We work by appointment only. If you are late by more than 20 minutes (without notice) your appointment will be cancelled. Most grooms will take between 1hr 30mins to 3hr or more depending on the size of the dog and coat condition. If you think you will be late, please call Barking Bath in advance to advise.

Please plan to be within your house 5 mins before for your appointment time slot. We do not have facilities to separate more than 1 dog being treated by the groomer. We give you an 1 hour time slot for arrival due to factors, we cannot control such as traffic etc.

The groomer will meet you at the mobile salon to take your dog and will call or text you around 5 minutes before the groom has finished to notify you to collect your dog from the mobile salon.

Groom Duration

Times for commencement and completion of any grooming service given by Barking Bath are given in good faith, however, unless specifically guaranteed, Barking Bath will not be liable for any delay in commencement or completion of a grooming service.

Where appropriate, Barking Bath will notify the customer of any delays at the earliest opportunity.

Your Pet’s Health & Welfare

By attending the appointment, you the owner, confirm that your dog is fit and healthy.

Grooming of sick and/or elderly dogs is entirely at owner’s risk. We do not take responsibility if your dog develops an allergic reaction to any grooming products. Please let us know of anything in advance, if known, or please notify us of ANY irritations caused afterward. There are changes we can make for future grooms to minimise these factors.

Pregnancy

Please advise Barking Bath if your dog is pregnant as we are unable to complete any of our services apart from nail trim due to this condition. Pregnant girls will need to wait until puppies are fully weaned which is roughly 7 weeks after birth. If your dog is found to be pregnant or recently given birth upon arrival, service will be refused and the deposit will be kept to cover our losses.

Groomer Safety

We are at liberty to muzzle your dog if they present a danger to us. Any dog that portrays any aggressive behaviour will not be accepted for grooming. Please notify us beforehand if your dog has any aggressive tendencies or behavioural issues and we can advise further. The owner understands that they will be held liable for all injuries caused by their dog.

Grooming Accidents

Accidents do occur, this comes with working with tools that are very sharp on a moving object such as a dog. Every precaution will be taken to prevent injuries from occurring, however, if this does happen and your dog needs to be taken to a vet, we are not liable for costs incurred.

Neglected & Matted Coats

We will not accept liability for any conditions arising following the clipping of a matted dog. Examples, are not limited to, irritation, redness, and nicks from the blades. Conditions can already be present beneath the knots and matts that are not visible until the matts have been removed. We will always be honest and advise if we feel a vet should examine your dog.

Having matted hair or tight knots removed from your dog may make them feel strange for a few days after being clipped, so be aware they may cause injuries to themselves via scratching.

Ear Plucking

We will only pluck the hairs from the opening to the ears if the owner has requested this and if the dog is a regular visitor to our salon for grooming. We can advise the owner how to pluck the hair away, alternatively a vet will be able to do this for you.

Fleas & Ticks

There will be an extra charge of £20 on top of the grooming price. This will cover the products required to sterilise the mobile salon and prevent cross contamination to other dogs.  Appointments for the rest of the day will be cancelled to allow time to deep clean the van. We apologies in advance for the inconvenience if this does occur.

If this occurs, you are also advised to treat the dog once returned home, products are readily available from retailers or vets.

It is the owner responsibility to remove any flea collars before the groom. At Barking Bath, we will not complete any services apart from nail trim with a flea collar worn. This also includes collars such as seresto and other similar products due to the risk of exposure from insecticides and health and safety of the dog. If collars can’t be removed, we may offer to cut the collar off to complete the service or unfortunately refuse to complete the service. If the dog is refused service, the deposit will be kept to cover our losses.
